What is Hand Photorejuvenation?
Hand Photorejuvenation uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to target red and brown pigmentation. The light passes harmlessly through the skin and is absorbed by spots and lesions. Abnormal cells are destroyed, leaving only healthy tissue. IPL also promotes the growth of collagen, fills in scars and gives skin a youthful glow.
How does the treatment work?
The skin is cleansed, prepared with gel and then treated with the light. Afterwards, the gel is cleaned off, and sunblock is applied. Cold compresses may be used if needed. You may return to your normal routine immediately.
How many treatments are required?
Some clients may be satisfied with the results from two or three sessions, and some may seek additional treatment. The standard schedule is one treatment per month for up to five treatments.
Is Hand Photorejuvenation safe?
Hand Photorejuvenation is a safe, common and quick treatment with little risk.
Are there any possible side effects?
You may experience a sunburned effect for a few hours afterwards. Spots will temporarily appear darker, and hair growth may be affected. Swelling, blistering, infection, unwanted pigmentation changes and scarring are rare effects.
Will there be any downtime?
No, you may return to your daily routine immediately.
What are the benefits of Hand Photorejuvenation over other treatments?
Hand Photorejuvenation’s quick treatment time, visible results and lack of downtime make it a popular method to achieve the desired effects.
What are the results?
Hand Photorejuvenation gives the skin a healthy, youthful look, as well as decreases the appearance of blemishes such as scars, brown spots and redness.
What can be expected post-treatment?
Your skin will be sensitive and will need to be protected from the sun. Any swelling should be minimal and can be treated with cold compresses. The red and brown areas should flake off after a few days.
How soon will results appear?
Noticeable results appear after the first treatment.
How long does a Hand Photorejuvenation treatment last?
A session lasts around thirty minutes.
What conditions respond best to this treatment?
Dark spots, redness, ageing, freckles and sun spots all respond well to Hand Photorejuvenation.
Who are candidates for Hand Photorejuvenation?
Healthy individuals with minor blemishes are likely to be candidates for Hand Photorejuvenation.
Who should avoid Hand Photorejuvenation?
You may not want to have Hand Photorejuvenation if you have a history of excessive scarring, excessive bleeding or bruising, sun sensitivity, keloid formation or poor healing. Those with a family history of skin cancer should talk to their doctor about whether or not to proceed with treatment.
How does the treatment feel?
You will experience minor discomfort similar to a mild sunburn.
How long do the results last?
The effects of Hand Photorejuvenation can be permanent if the skin is well cared for.

Those with darker skin are less likely to see results and more likely to experience adverse side effects.
